iPhone X iPhone X won’t answer calls

My iPhone X, running 16.1.2 (and the previous version) stopped answering calls. The phone will ring normally, the callers information will show up normally on the display, but when I slide to answer it freezes. No reaction from the caller and the timer stays stuck at 00:00. After a few seconds it disconnects.
I can make outgoing calls with no problem.
Any help greatly appreciated!

Yikes, that's a drag. Maybe try 16.2?
