Sometimes my iPhone XS Max will display the apple logo with black background for a few seconds before going to the home screen when waking up.

Tried hard reboot but this will still occur occasionally.

Anyone knows what's the possible cause for this issue?

Thanks.

Maybe it’s soft rebooting due to some crash

hmm okay, do you know why the springboard will crash?

is it a hardware issue with my phone or should i go for an exchange?

Honestly I don't know, but not normal. I would reset the phone, start over, and if you have the same issues I would return or get a replacement.

If you can easily replicate it, definitely exchange it. They may attempt to restore before exchange however. So you may attempt a restore first yourself.
