I'm not too interested in the 12 pro, as to me the difference between the 12 regular and 12 pro is pretty insignificant. I have an iPhone XS Max that is still going very strong, but I like the design of the 12 a lot better. Do y'all think its enough to upgrade? I can prob sell my XS Max for around $400 minimum I would assume.

I think you should go for the 12 if you want a smaller and lighter device or if you want to upgrade your camera now.
If the weight and the form factor of your XS Max is still good for you, you could wait an extra year.
It depends on what you are looking for your next phone!

Similar screen tech, just a smaller screen. Better main and front facing cameras with the addition of ultra wide and deletion of telephoto. Lighter and more compact. Not sure how battery life compares but would probably be close. Some tradeoffs but if you'd like to go a bit smaller I think it would be an overall upgrade.
