iPhone XSMax: how to transfer music from iphone to 15" Macbook Air?

Is there a way (without subscribing to Apple Music) to transfer the music that's on my iPhone (and transferred to it via iTunes, long ago) to my new MBA?

All the syncing articles I have read are about transferring from Music on the Mac back to the phone, but I want to go the other way. I have an iCloud account, but I can't see how to get the music from the phone to it, either.

You need to buy a third party app. I think iMazing will do it
