Recently bought a new battery and tools from iFixit to repair the dead battery in my 80GB 5gen, haven't used it in years. Much to my amazement, it worked 1st try, despite those tiny ass ribbon connectors and tabs. An iPod is hardly needed anymore, obviously, but cool to see it work again. This was my 1st Apple device, and its music navigation got me to my buy my 1st iPhone, 3GS. Still, I am amazed at this 80GB music player smaller than a pack of cards. Fun stuff.

Congratulations! In my opinion, the sound that comes out of these iPods sounds way better than any modern-day iPhone/iPad. Thats the entire reason why I use an iPod in the first place. Rock on!
