After years of android and never trying Apple, my wife and I made the switch this year and are thrilled with our 8 plus and X. But at the end of the day, I have the note 8 as the best overall phone of 2017. No phone can do more. If it was designed by Apple and ran ios11, I feel a lot of you would agree. As it is, I’m sure a lot of people call me out and complain about how bad touch wiz is.

1. Note 8
2. iPhone X
3. Pixel 2xl
4. iPhone 8 Plus
5. OnePlus 5T

The iPhone X is my phone of the year because its the one I choose. Objectively yes the note 8 is better but its not my preference.

So my top 4 would be

1. X
2. 8 +
3. Note 8
4. S8 +

Behold!! The iPhone X is not about the roman numbers or the number 10, is about energy. Phone of the year!
:)

Yeah…it's got about 5 more minutes and then 2018 rolls around and it's last year's model of the year. :)

Well yes the iphone is my phone of the year for 2017, and 2016 and every year back to 2011 when Verizon finally got the iPhone.
Which current iPhone? I swap back and forth between my SE and my 6S.

The only ones qualified to answer this are those who've done comprehensive, unbiased reviews of many top-shelf phones released this year.

So, no one on Macrumours forums then. :D

iPhone X is the greatest consumer electronic product ever created.

Phone of the year? Try phone of the decade.

I have three phones activated through T-Mobile so my top three are:

1. Note 8 It's simply an outstanding phone and can even be a computer substitute. I bought it on launch day but have never used it as my daily though, just use it at home.
1. iPhone 7+ It is currently my daily phone. Simply outstanding and I'm using it with three series 3 watches
3. S8+ Was using this as my daily before I got the 7+.

Can I ask why you have the Note 8 just for home use instead of a tablet?

I planned on using it as my daily phone when I bought it but I made the mistake of buying a huge OtterBox case with it which makes the phone twice as thick and just generally much bigger so I never bothered to use it at my daily. I was also not in a hurry to get a smaller case for it because I just used my S8+ as my daily until I got the iPhone 7+.

It's a silly reason as to why the Note 8 was not my daily phone but that's the reason. I'll probably skip next year's Note.
