Is Apple TV+ free right now?

Turned on Apple TV this morning and got this. Notice it says “Watch originals from Apple TV+, HBO shows and movies, and all of EPIX - just open the Apple TV app. No subscription needed.” I’m trying to understand why, I haven’t bought anything, the only thing that renewed is my iTunes Match service. But, even if that triggered something why is HBO and EPIX included? Is there a preview going on that I don’t know about?

Not sure about a preview. But, if you purchased an iPhone 11, you get Apple TV+, free for a year.
