I have a MacPro 5,1 6 core 3,33 GHz with nvidia card Geforce GTX 980. Wifi doesn't support an OS version higher than El Capitan.
Will the computer run better than with Yosemite?
Will I receive security updates from the past? (those who were posted till 2017)
Can I install El Capitan with windows sharing enabled so I can see it on a MacBook untill the correct nvidia drivers are installed?
TIA

Are you sure newer OS are not supported by the Wifi card?
I've got different cMP4,1/5,1 running Mojave with the OEM airport card.
Anyway, a (non-Apple) BCM94322MC card works fine too (or even better) and cost ~ 10,- on eBay.

+1 for upgrading to El Capitan or High Sierra.

I bought a wrong Wifi card on ebay. Mine supports only until El Capitan instead of Mojave. This wasn't mentioned by the seller. Therefore, I am stuck with El Capitan or lower. My other MacPro works with Mojave.
