General Is same backup location required for all devices?

My iTunes and iMac OS10.6 are not compatible with iOS9 and i will not be upgrading them. I have not enabled iCloud and backup all my idevices on my computer with iTunes. If i update my phone to 9 i understand that i will have to use iCloud for backup of the phone. Will i still be able to use iTunes to back up the other idevices?

Is this the right place to ask this?
