Today, 85% of businesses accept Apple Pay in the United States.

Unlike, other developed countries where the usage of Apple Pay is very high, in the United States, when you want to use Apple Pay, you need to ask the business if they accept Apple Pay or not.

Is the adoption of Apple Pay by US businesses increasing fast or slow currently in the United States?

There are still a few major holdouts. Walmart, Home Depot, many Kroger locations, HEB. And most restaurants.

Most other places have them, even if the public isn’t fully aware yet.

I think it's increasing... but very slowly. I'm amazed at how many places are holding out, particularly the larger chains like Lowe's, Walmart, Kroger-based grocery stores.

Kroger is test-marketing a few of their locations to accept Apple Pay directly, but I would guess that even if they decide to accept it in all the stores they own, it'll take a year or two to actually implement in all locations.
