Battery degradation on M1 Pro (14" Max in my case) is pretty bad. Was wondering if Apple improved on that (hope) or stayed the same (my worry).

Mine's not been great. Kinda glad i got Applecare now.
Damn, I had a slimmer of hope that maybe they improved, sad :/
My M1 Air's battery was insanely stellar when compared to MBP14.

Tbf its probably because mine is plugged in all the time.

But the charging AI didn't kick in until way too late. And the damage seems to be done.

I expect it will drop below 80% when next i use it without charge

Oh, but that's M1 Max and I'm specifically asking about M3 variants. Some people already have them for half a year, we should get some first degradation drops if it's as bad.

Mine is similar to yours (mostly plugged):
Cycle Count: 73
Condition: Normal
Maximum Capacity: 84%

My M1 MBP 14" has 187 cycles and 93% (coconut) / 97%(macOS) battery health.

84% with 73 cycles is insanely bad.

It is, tbh I'm very disappointed. Not sure if it's a user error because most of the time it was plugged in. Maybe I should have disconnected it more often to condition the battery more.
