Hey guys,

I got a new iPad running 4.3.5 and I'm wondering if there is currently a jailbreak available for it. If not, does anyone know when one is expected? Or if there is can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks.

There is, but, it's tethered!

Can you exaggerate on that? I know with a tethered Jailbreak you can't let your device turn off or the jailbreak will be gone but will you be able to turn the device back on without connecting it to a computer first?

He's wrong about an available JB. There's no jailbreak for the iPad 2 on anything other than 4.3.3.

http://jailbrea.kr/ outlines what can and cannot be currently JB'd. Note there is a tethered JB for other devices on that firmware, but NOT the iPad 2.

(As reference: for a tethered JB, the answer to your question is "maybe". If you use tweaks that use Mobile Substrate or anything that ties into the Springboard, you'd need a computer running the JB software to boot tethered. If don't have any of those installed--and many many tweaks do use Mobile Substrate--you can usually boot, but you lose some functionality, such as Safari.)

Thank you. Is there any way to downgrade to 4.3.3 and use jailbreakme.com?

If you have your blobs saved. It's a really tedious and PITA process.

Oh well I just got my iPad last Thursday so I don't have any of that saved. Oh well, I guess I'll haves to wait for a jailbreak for 4.3.5 to be released.

Thanks for all of the replies!

most likely won't be another JB until ios5 gets out. Even then, the dev (comex) for the only iPad 2 JB is now working with :apple:

Return your iPad and go to Target or Walmart to buy an iPad with 4.3.3 if you really want to jailbreak

Otherwise you'll have to wait unil maybe November for a jailbreak

My cousin bought one from Walmart and it had 4.3.5! I bought one the next day from Best Buy and it had 4.3.3!
