So basically like many I'm struggling to figure out what would be the size that fits just snug on my wrist, even after using the tool etc. Yes I know about John Gruber's post as well but it still doesn't instil me with confidence.

I feel like this can be simply solved (for current Apple Watch owners) if we know the length of each loop size, edge to edge.

I take my sport band off the watch and measure the length, with the pin still in the hole that makes the band a snug fit. Voilá.

I know they stretch and I mean the length when new out of the box.

edit: in my case that's 164mm edge to edge

Measuring my wrist with a tape measure, results told me size 9, I size 8 for a tighter fit. Using the paper tool you print out, it said size 7. Made sure to wrap the paper tight. Got the size 7 and it fits perfectly. I did try it on in the store to verify though.
