iPod Is this iPod Classic done for?

I was listening to some music and then it quit working but I have tried hooking up to my MB air which doesn't see it even in the system report. I then hook it up to my Mac Pro 2009 which is what I sync with but it only shows up in the system report and not on the desktop or in iTunes. I have tried the restarting the iPod using the menu/sleep buttons but it doesn't restart. Also it sees my iPod Nano just fine with a dead battery.

On a whim I tried it in Windows and it doesn't even see it at all.

never mind I got it finally to work. had to use my car to hook up to and then some finagling i got it to work. this can be deleted or whatever. sorry about that.
