I’ve always been curious about this, as I constantly plug my phone into Carplay, and sometimes multiple times too. I’d go to the store, unplug my phone, and then plug it back in when I get out and start driving again.

I have an Xs Max that I bought on launch day, 2018. I use CarPlay every day... and my battery health is still at 96%. Based on that info, I'd say "no", it's not necessarily bad for the battery.
