Apps Issue with watchOS 10 and AirPods Pro

I have an Apple Watch Series 8 and just updated to watchOS 10 because I wanted to try the Noise Cancellation - Adaptive mode (which did work after updating my iPhone and iPad. But now the AirPods Pro don't play music properly - all crackling and noise when using them regardless of which noise cancellation setting I choose. This happens whether I am streaming music via cellular, over wifi or a downloaded music playlist.
Anyone with similar experience?
