I'm running the latest iTunes on a Macbook Air with Yosemite installed. My iPhone 4S is a bit outdated with 7.1.2 as the OS. For what it is, it's worked fine until the latest iTunes update.

Now when I manage my music manually on the phone via iTunes, it doesn't always delete the songs I select to delete. I'll grab an album of songs in iTunes, delete from the phone, then when I go back to the phone, the album is still there. I have to manually delete each song from the phone that I don't want anymore, even though I already did just that in iTunes -- and iTunes no longer finds those songs on my phone.

There's also the issue of certain albums (correctly labeled) never finding artwork, but that's just been a broken mess introduced by iOS 7 since it's inception.

Any thoughts on the syncing issue?
