iPad iTunes drag and drop feature not working?

I recently updated to the latest version of iTunes and my settings are "Manually Manage Music and Videos". I normally drag and drop albums into the Music tab in "On this iPad", but when I drop the file it doesn't copy it on my ipad and when it does it is not in the music app?

help please
