Call me old fashioned, but I like to purchase my music - not necessarily subscribe to have it or use it. Two questions about the Apple Music app, can you still rip music from any CDs that might be purchased? And, secondly, can we still buy music on the iTunes music store (if that is even still going to be available?)? Thanks in advance. I looked around the web, but couldn’t find any response to these questions.

You'll definitely be able to rip/import your own music to the music app. It's not exclusively for streaming. The itunes Music store is not going away either. From Apple's website: "For users who still like to own their music, the iTunes Store is just a click away."
