Your car's voltage meter will sag when you put a load on the battery, too. Watch next time you flip on your headlights. You'll see it. It takes a while for the alternator to help the battery recover completely.

Spinning the hard drive will lower the voltage readout on the battery. It's simple physics. That's how it works. The graphical battery meter is as accurate as it gets.

Get over it.
