Jumping from Catalina to ... Sonoma??

Greetings from the wilds of New Zealand! We have a 2018 MBP that is still running Catalina. It is showing signs of the need to update the OS. What do you folx recommend? Should we go straight to Sonoma or half way?
Pros cons?

The latest macOS your 2018 MBP supports is Sonoma, the latest macOS.
