iOS Landscape only mode

I need to make an App with Tab bars, working in Landscape mode only. I read that you can get Landscape only by setting UIInterfaceOrientation to UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight in pList. I used the Tab Bar Application and only modified the above. When this starts it initially shows landscape then flips to portrait with a small area of white space to the right of the second tab.
