Last 3 days google home lost ability to waken me with radio

I’ve had a google home mini for years and for years it wakens me every day with bbc radio 1. this Was set up by saying ‘hey google waken me up every day with music ‘ and then answering her questions with 8am, bbc radio 1

and it just works. Or worked.

last three days it wakes me with the annoying generic alarm clock. It’s not an internet issue or an ability to play the station as once I wake to the harsh beeping and shout (it’s deliberately in another room so I don’t turn it off and fall asleep) hey ‘google stop‘ ! Followed by ‘hey google play bbc radio 1’ I’m where I should be but annoyed.

any idea what’s changed?

in the meantime weirdly, i just cancelled all alarms, and then added again and it works. weird.
