Late 2009 Mac mini SSD upgrade

Hi, I have a late 2009 Mac mini and I was planning on upgrading the hard drive to an ssd, my plan is to use a hard drive caddy: (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Proster-Co...ds=mac+mini+ssd+bracket&qid=1593497981&sr=8-5)

in which I will have a 250gb m.2. Nvme ssd which I am planning to install the os onto.

My questions are, will it work? And will the nvme ssd work at its normal high speed even though it is inside a sata enclosure.

Don’t bother with that. I don’t think that would work.

For best performance get a SATA II (3Gbps) SSD. There‘s an issue with this model where SATA III (6Gbps) SSDs are throttled to SATA I (1.5Gbps) speeds.

If you don’t use the optical drive you can get a kit to replace that with a SSD as well so you would have two SSDs.

You can also put 8GB (2x4GB) RAM in. May as well do that at the same time if you have less currently installed.
