My launch day iPhone XS I’ve noticed is getting shorter battery life so checked the health and it‘s at 84% capacity.

Dies this seem low to anyone as it does me? For what it’s worth I’m not a heavy user - 3-4 hours or so daily of Internet/social media/Spotify. Charge nightly on a Anker Qi stand wireless charger.

Strange my launch day xs max is at 95%, maybe the heat from charging your phone on a wireless charger is contributing to your poor battery health. ?

Don’t think the fan does much, charging wirelessly generates more heat than charging with a standard in box charger.

A lot of people refuse to use wireless chargers, apparently it degrades your battery quicker.

Try your luck with apple once battery health hits 80%, you might get a free battery replacement.

My 4 year old iPhone 6 Plus I use every day all day has a battery health score of 96.5% according to coconutBattery. Original battery, 1523 load cycles.
Doesn't seem possible, but I never charge it to 100%, so that may be why.

Batteries are closed boxes housing a chemical reaction. Battery health can vary between devices. We have had plenty folks on this forum that use all different tricks but in the end the battery will always degrade. Plenty external factors come into play as well, so I wouldn’t overthink it.
When you start to find battery life terrible, get the battery replaced.

Agreed, a poll would be interesting. My October 2018 XS health is at 90% today.

My launch day XS Max is at 92% per the battery settings, but the hit to battery life has definitely been more than 8%.

I'm convinced the battery health info isn't accurate at all.

This makes me think coconutBattery is just as inaccurate as everything else. The phones are rated to retain up to 80% of capacity after 500 cycles.

My 15 month old XS Max’s battery is at 94% capacity. I definitely notice the difference from when I first brought it to now. I have to top up at least once a day to keep it from dying.

Interesting data. I will aim for a free replacement but know it likely won’t happen.

iPhone XS here, manufactured 2018-08-27, battery 86%. I always charge it wirelessly, overnight plus during the day I often keep it on a wireless pad next to my computer.

How is the actual performance? My 2 year old battery is at 95% health but I only see about 20% battery life vs. new. I’d take the lower rating and better life.

Xs Max here. At 90% health. Got the phone on launch day as well, never had a repair done *knock on wood* but I have been using the Smart Battery Case for about 8 months. I've also never been able to get the 'Optimized Battery Charging' function to work. I think it's because I use the phone as a white noise machine.
