Hello!

Just inherited an iPhone 3GS and thought it would be great to have as an Apple TV remote. Went to the app store to get the Apple Remote app but unfortunately am told that I need to update to iOS 7, obviously this is not possible on the antiquated iPhone 3GS.

I remember reading a few months ago that apple were offering legacy apps for download? Does this not include the remote app for some reason? Is there a work around that anyone knows of?

Many thanks!

Solved-ish

Looks like you can only get legacy apps if you downloaded an older version with that particular App Store account. Luckily I had downloaded the remote app on my iPad in ios6 so by logging into the same app store account as I had for my iPad on the iPhone I was able to download the legacy version. Yay!
