Now some may say that 3 repairs (Camera + Logic Board, Top Case, and the display case now needs to be repaired) and a battery replacement isn't too bad (something I wouldn't have expected when I first bought a mac...), but it is really becoming a hassle to get my computer repaired every 2 months or so. I was wondering if anyone had any experience in convincing apple to replace their computer. I am pretty much convinced that the entire case of my computer has some manufacturing defect since it cracks and is discolored (even the replaced part, and yes I take very good care of my computer). I am going into the apple store to see if they can quickly replace my display case, and maybe talk about replacement / inspection of the computer. I am running the sound for a play off the laptop next week, so I definitely cannot send it in, and I also don't want any possibility of anything happening to it. Also a side note, I have upgraded my ram with OWC ram, should I swap in the standard ram before going into the apple store? Or are they fine with upgraded ram?

Dude, email steve jobs or call apple care and complain. They should have a history of your machine. Either way you should get a response back..

Unfortunately aside from the logic board (one of the few components that's more durable than the ibook) most of those problems are very common among macbooks

I spoke with a product specialist, he basically said that I need to document everything and wait until/ if a few major hardware failures occur. It sounded like he wanted me to collect evidence for a trial. I understand that Apple can't go around replacing peoples computers all the time, but I think that this major hardware rule is unnecessary. They say they review on a case by case basis, but only after you have some repeated major hardware failures. I think by that time, most people would be detoured from ever buying a mac again (except for devotes, like me and most likely you). I don't know, I will get my computer repaired at my local apple store and talk to them about the repeated cracking and case problems, but if my computer needs another repair so soon, I am not going to accept that major hardware theory. What if I continue to have "minor" issues with my computer until my warranty expires, and then I can't get it repaired with out paying? And who defines major vs minor issues, it is all the same to me, I drive to the apple store, give them my computer from 3-8 days, and, I drive back to get it. I think this may require a Jobs email, though, I could just be over reacting.
