Letters not showing up on macbook?

I have a problem when i read myspace bulletins and certain things text is displayed like this M C R U O R S its missing letters in between I searched and can't find anything answering the problem. I tryed deleted my preferences and restarting no help. any suggestions?

Letters Missing

I had this same issue when I installed Office 08 and then uninstalled it's something to do with the fonts package. I resolved by re-installing Office 08 but there's got to be a way to rebuild your fonts aside from re-installing Office. I know it's possible that Office wasn't a part of your equation but I would investigate rebuilding your font cache in OS X. There are some maintenance tools which should do this for you.

spooky,

i was messing with fonts this morning, and had the missing letters issue, all the C's were missing for me! I dont recall getting rid of any office fonts, but i did disable some.

I logged off and back on about 30 mins ago and all's well.
