My friend just bought a Lexmark X1240 without first checking ot make sure that it is Macintosh compatible. It is a Scanner/printer combo. Does anyone know wehre I can find drivers for this printer for Mac OS X, or if they even exist? I couldn't find any mention of this printer at Lexmark's own web site, which is going very very very slowly by the way.

Any help would be appreciated. If he can't find drivers for it then obviously I'll tell him to take it back, but it would be cool if we could.

EDIT: None of the Lexmark drivers included with OS X are installed, and after reviewing the list of supported Lexmark printers, I don't think they'll work anyway.

Sucka

Well, looks like your friend is a dumbass like me and took advantage of the holiday sales at Wal Mart. Trust me, I know the despair. Return it now.

Have a look at gutenprint - a huge third party library of drivers.

However, I'm not so sure you'll be able to get the scanner working with OSX
