Linux on Old Mac

Hi everyone I have an old OSX 10.7.5 iMac 24" late 2006 4gb RAM. It starts but is useless outside of looking pretty. I normally install Linux on older Windows and Chromebooks, but can't seem to get it to work on this one. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Figured it out. Works perfect with Linux Mint. Brand new machine and everything works.
