Loading old hard drive on ibook

I have just had replaced (on my G4 ibook) the hard drive. Now I need to reload all information from old drive to newly installed drive. I have old hard drive in a case set up for use as an external drive but I need to know correct proceedure for transfering info.... so I don't crap out the whole system. Appreciate help. Thanks, mitch
