Hi all, i understood some had the same feeling...i bought the VX Nano yesterday in Paris Apple Expo and installed the latest Logitech Control Center (LCC 2.2.2). Since then my computer asked me to restart 2 times within a few hours...a shade came down the screen and i was asked to restart holding the power button (it was listed in several languages).

Have you experience that? Is that a Kernel Panic? Did someone try to remove the LCC and it solved the issue? is a Kernel panic like this needs MPB repair or OS reinstall or finding the culprit SW and desinstalling would solve the issue?

Thanks for your help & thoughts.

That would indeed be a Kernel Panic. If LLC is in fact what is causing it uninstalling it will surely solve the problem. You will not need to repair the MBP or reinstall the OS if LLC is the source of the panic.

You could try booting in Safe-mode (holding shift while booting) which will prevent LLC from loading. If the kernel panics no longer persist then you've probably found the culprit.

You might check the console and system logs for more information but since LCC added (Unsanity's?) APE hack, things haven't been quite as stable.

I have the VX Nano and have experienced the same problems. Specifically, when I turn off the mouse or the mouse goes into standby, it would cause a kernal attack and force me to restart. I have lost a lot of important data and time because of this. I have been in contact with the Logitech support about this issue. They have said that they have recognized this problem and are "working on it". In the mean time, I have uninstalled LCC (thus loosing all the additional features of the mouse). I have not had any crashes since then. Even though they list that this product is mac compatible, I don't think that Logitech really tested mac compatibility when releasing this product:(

You have an Intel-based machine, right?

I'm betting that most people who have them are those experiencing the kernel panics. I'm also betting that Logitech is too cheap to buy one of the machines so that they can test their products properly.

I have uninstalled LCC and since then no more kernel panic...what a shame claiming that Logitech mousse which are in my opinion the best on the markt are not mac compatible as stated on the paper...

I do not kow if i will simply return the mousse or wait for a hypotetic SW update...

You could use third party products. If you do a search on USB Overdrive through MacRumors, you could learn more about that product and another that's available.
