Apps Looking for an .m3u8s streaming player for aTV

I have a bunch of .m3u8 URLs that I like to load in Safari and then Airplay to my 3rd gen aTV. The problem is having to rely on the iPhone to Airplay is a pain, and it gets interrupted easily.

Does anyone know of an AppleTV 4th gen app that allows you to create a list of .m3u8 URL "channels" and quickly switch between them. It would be nice to have the AppleTV independently run these .m3u8 URL live streams without needing Airplay.

Does anyone know if Plex or VLC will be able to do this on aTV?
