Looking to Update OS to Big Sur and My Logic Version

Hi,

Does anyone have experience upgrading to OS big sur or another one from El Capitain ?


Is it safe to try if you can restore from a time machine?

Do I basically store my Time Machine file on an external HD... and then if there are issues with the OS Update just
do a restore?

Yes. Time Machine backup. If needed because of issues, boot into Recovery, reformat internal drive, and reinstall macOS. Use Migration Assistant to restore your data from Time Machine backup. Many tutorials on the web.
