I've lost all documents on desktop and documents folder today. I signed out on the Mac this morning with all documents showing. Then signed in this afternoon finding all documents on desktop and documents in the document folder missing. I rebooted a few times and still nothing. I had to go to Time Machine to recover all the files. Has this ever happen to anyone? Is it a Mac hiccup or should I be concerned that something wrong is happening with my Mac? Mac specs are in my signature.

Hi!
Pay attention to your iCloud Preferences/Settings, sync malfunction. Re-enter the password, make sure that iCloud Drive is enabled, as well as Desktop and Documents (under the Options, or details)
Here's detailed explanation:

Thank you @appltech That is probably what it was, sync malfunction. I checked all the setting and everything is working fine now after Time Machine recovery. 👍
