My sister in law had her iPhone XR stolen a few days ago. We put the phone in lost mode and reported it to the police straight away and after a day she got an older iPhone SE and restored her iCloud backUp to it.

What is strange is that for the past 14 hours the iPhone has been reported as found a few times but the location doesn't make sense. Every time the location is close to where the replacement iPhone has been. Could it be a bug to the Find My services due to the restore from iCloud?

Following are a couple of screenshots from the Find My application on Mac picturing the issue.

The only thing that comes to mind is that there might be a mixup since the two devices have the same name. I find it odd, but to cover all the bases I instructed my sister in law to change the name of the new device to something different that the lost one.

Any thoughts?
