Resolved low res icons next to chrome bookmarks

I just picked a new M1 MBA. I discovered a strange problem. The icons to the left of the bookmarks have a lower resolution as compared to when viewed on the 2019 Intel MBA. I'm using Chrome on both and the display settings are the same, set to "looks like 1280 x 800". Any idea what could be causing this?

Edit: Accessing the links made the icons start displaying in the higher res format.

Attached are images showing the low res version of a couple of bookmarks. After accessing those bookmarks, they go high res. In case anyone knows why this happens, I'd be interested in learning about it.
