Is it just me or are notification sounds lower in volume than ringtones? I'm currently running beta 6 and asked in the beta 6 thread but no one answered. And I'm not at all sure this is something unique to the current batch of betas.
I examined my current ringtone and notification sound (both are MP3s) and both are rendered at about -2dB, so they should be reproduced at about the same volume. However, while the ringtone is quite loud, my notification sound (the bosun's whistle from Star Trek) is quite a bit lower... to the point that I often don't hear it while in my pocket.
My volume slider is about 90% up, and it applies to both ringtones and notifications, right? Have I missed something? I Googled the issue and while I found quite a few descriptions of the issue, there were no solutions other than rebooting (which did not work for me).
