I’ve been researching this new M1 Mac mini 16 GB RAM and I’m curious how much of a difference I’ll actually see while using it vs my current i7 2017 MacBook Pro 16 GB RAM. I’ll be using it for 4K Final Cut Pro weekly vlogs, my buddy’s Theme park and travel vlogs, and eventually maybe even a home cooking show in development.
Is is worth the money or should I keep my current MacBook and just wait a little longer for the vlogs to render and export?
I know the M1 makes it faster and I’ll definitely see a speed increase but is it worth the money?
I make the vlogs cinematic and use special plugins and effects. I edit the videos in Apple ProRes proxy since it is faster. I switch to a Higher ProRes before exporting to H.264 to run smooth for YouTube.
