I have a mac M1 model A2337 which was giving the 'charging' then 'not charging' noises every few seconds alternately when plugged in a few nights ago. Thinking my powersupply had fritzed I removed the usb-c charger, worked on it for another ~20 min, and did a hard shutdown (which wasn't necessary but otoh shouldn't lead to disaster...) Upon trying to reboot I found the unit was bricked and totally unresponsive. The dude at the mac store connected it to another mac w. usb cable and also got no response, took it in back to open it up and do whatever magic incantations, came back and announced the mainboard was dead.

Anyone experience anything like this? Its not the same as the 'usb-c passthrough charging' issue but similar.
