Are there any M2 Pro Mac Mini users on MacRumors that are not having the whole computer crash & reboot while the machine sleeps overnight? Anyone here with an M2 Pro Mac Mini that’s been running for months without the machine crashing & needing a reboot? Thanks! 🙏🏼

I have only had mine for a few weeks and no sign of that issue. I have an issue that occasionally VPN stops and need to be manually restarted but I suspect that is an issue with my lousy internet provider since I’m also experiencing wifi issues with our phones and other PC while at home

My Mac Mini has crashed/restarted occasionally, during the night, when nothing is really going on. It crashed 2 of the last 3 nights. Haven't really tried to solve the problem yet. My first thought is to unplug some external devices.

Mine is doing the same thing but not many external devices, HDMI TV, backup drive… that’s about it. I’m keeping track of my crash reports to call into Apple to see if they can figure out if something is off. 🙃

Since May no real crash on my M2 Pro. But a little frequently it wakes up with either two displays switching positions (main and extended) or resolutions messed up and I have to restart for the issue. Other than that all is fine.

My m2 Pro Mini 32gb/1tb has been running since May with zero crashes. One or two Ventura updates ago, I started seeing warnings in the morning when waking from sleep that four external SSDs had been improperly ejected. I see this two or three days a week.

What kind of external SSDs do you use? Do you use enclosures or hubs/docks? What kind? (e.g., Qwiizlab, etc.) I have used the Qwiizlab UH25 Pro and WD-black SN770 NVMe 2 TB for about a week and no wake-up drop or charging (using USB-A port) drop.

I've got an OWC thunderbolt hub and a Realtek hub with an NVME SSD, and several SSDs connected directly to the m2 Pro Mini. A total of 8 external SSDs. I've seen no pattern as to which SSDs are "improperly disconnected" during sleep. Maybe it is because of Ventura having nightmares during sleep.

I’m using a Western Digital 2TB “My Passport for Mac” drive (not SSD), no hubs or docks…

I don't put my M2 Mini Pro, and it doesn't crash. That kind of problem with sleep is usually a driver problem.

Do you have an external drive, and maybe it's not waking up in time? Not an easy problem to solve except with new hardware.

First day without a crash, after disconnecting from the HDMI port and using a usb-C to HDMI adapter, then the same cable into the monitor. Will post if this changes.

No crashes since Friday morning after switching away from the Mac mini HDMI output.
Might use the HDMI input (2 use 2 monitors) and see if crashes return.

Finally a crash overnight, using the USB-C out via USB-C/HDMI adapter..

Sonoma on my M2 Mac Mini Pro (base model) seems sensitive to USB drives attached to a USB hub. I just crashed when trying to copy data from a SATA SSD to a spinning HD. Both were attached via the USB 3.0 Hub. Similar crash a few days ago.

I had a similar experience when I tried using an older Dell WD15 USB C multifunction dock with M2 Pro Mini. The dock had plenty of usb3 ports, and I plugged in 3 external drives. I have since removed the Dell dock and I bought a RSHTECH 7 port USB hub from Amazon and it works fine, no more crashes or disk drives going off line.

Something must be corrupted or conflicting. Sonoma has turned into hot garbage. 4 crashes in two days now.

Is this the RSHTECH 7 port you purchased?
