That’s device thickness, not bezel thickness. Unless you backed out the bezel size from the screen and device dimensions?Update bezel is 5.1 mm

If they did change they don’t look materially different to me.
I did my own photoshopping. You can clearly see a bezel reduction, as well as a slightly taller heights.

I think we arrived at the same number.

Dividing by two, the bezel width is 0.34" on the left and right when device is in portrait orientation. The top and bottom bezels are 0.33" each.
In practical terms, the difference between old and new iPad is only 0.01". It's basically indistinguishable.
You can calculate the bezel width yourself from the tech specs (outer dimensions minus resolution divided by DPI). I made a calculation based on the rumors before release, which resulted in less than 1 mm reduction.
I am a sucker for thin bezels but holding my iPad Pro right now I can see why it makes less sense here. I‘m glad we didn‘t get a Dynamic Island here for sure. Maybe in the future they can remove the bezels like on the iPhone with under-display camera etc, but add a bezel-frame in software. looking like frosted glass or something and showing the content beneath, disappearing when watching videos. Let‘s see what the future holds!
