Hey all :D

I am wirting this post because a friend of mine bought a really cheap working Mac Mini 1,1 ( from 2006 we believe ) and we'd like to turn it into a small home NAS.

The project is really simple, we take the AirPort out and put in a small ssd for the OS then we use the 820-1925-A Interconnect Board with one Hard Drive mounted in the sata port and an IDE->Sata CD Caddy converter with another drive.

The only thing we are wondering is if it would be better to rather get something like this Interconnect Board that already has two sata ports or salvage one of these from a Mac Mini 2,1.

If anyone has tried this before please let us know so we know which components we should get. We are also very aware of the limitations of this platform and how it really doesn't make sense to spend money on it but for us it's more about the experience and the pleasure of troubleshooting.

Thank you for reading.
