Mac Mini M1 256/512gb or M2 256 Gb

Hello,

I live in Belgium and I would like a Mac Mini because I am on PC and I have an external drive which was Mac formatted with old photos/movies of my children. Because of the hassle of transferring Mac drives to PCs (believe me I tried) I was thinking to purchase a Mac Mini. It would be for occasional use, maybe some photo editing.
I found an M1 256gb currently on sale for 529€ and an M1 512gb for 749€.
The M2 Mini base model is at 639€.
Which one would you get?

Which one would you get?

M2 base model. It has better support for displays, TB4 instead of TB3, improved WiFi and Bluetooth. As well as being the current model.

110 Euros is not nothing, but it's also not that big of a price jump.

The M2 Mini base model is at 639€.

I'd go with this one if you don't need storage. It will last longer. If the budget is tights, go with M1.
