When I plug in my iPod headphones (which work great on my iPod) into my mac mini's mini headphone jack, I do not hear any sound through them. I have tried restarting my computer and making sure the computer is detection the connection.

Here is a screenshot that the computer sees the headphones:

Is there a way to fix this problem? (Like do a reset of the settings?)

Sounds like you got a broken headphone jack :( AppleCare call time?

I'm not calling you an idiot but make sure it is the right size jack... no probably not but always check everything.

It is in the right input (I tried both)

I hope it is not broken. I just brought the mac mini back from college and my awesome speakers were running great off the mini jack port.

It looks like my machine is covered until April 2007. I guess I will head over to the apple store and see if they can fix it.

Thanks!
