Hi There,

I'm trying to install OS onto a PCIe before I strip down the Mac! usually, i chuck a HDD in a SATA cable to usb. job done. But im finding it really hard to find a similar cable/adapter for a Mac-based PCIe or at least one that doesnt codt a fortune - https://www.owcdigital.com/products/aura-pro-x2

Do I get two adapters? take it down into a standard connector then go usb, would that even work?

Thanks for the time guys, appreciate it.

What is the problem if you just install it to the PCIe slot on the iMac logic board?

Good question. The strip down of the 2014 iMac is a bit of a mission, basically have to take every element out to access the port, The memory has been tested, so should be ok, but as you know with computers, sometimes stuff just doesnt work. I may have to just go for it, but if I can avoid it by getting a converter that will save me a good 4 hrs :)
