Hi,

Wondering if anyone can shed some insight into this.

When my Mac Pro is under stress i.e. gaming on Windows 10. The game runs great but after maybe 30 minutes of playing the machine will black screen and the fans will go on full blast and I can't do anything other than a hard reset. I assume it might be a temperature issue but as far as I am aware it looks fine (under idle). I assume with the fans going crazy its something to do with the temps.

After a hard shutdown, the system boots up fine.

Both Fallout 4 and Crysis (original, not remastered) have this issue.

The fans do ramp up a little during the short gaming session and I can't figure out what's wrong. If I'm just browsing, youtubing, or encoding a video it seems to be fine.......

Specs;

MP 4,1->5,1 (Opencore)
2x X5680
24 GB RAM
Slot 1: Vega 56 (externally powered so I'm sure it's not a power draw issue)
Slot 2: empty
Slot 3: SSD PCIE card (holds 2)
Slot 4: USB 3 card, SATA powered

Optical drive bay: 2x 2.5in HDD
SATA 1: Windows 10 boot SSD
SATA 2: MacOS boot SSD (Big Sur)
SATA 3: empty
SATA 4: SATA to add2psu to trigger the external PSU for the Vega.

I have a noctua fan that blows over the northbridge, attached screenshot of my idle temps under Win 10 if that helps.

Cheers!
