I have gone ahead and cleaned everything applied new paste and changed both northbridge retaining pins. See pics.

You need to address the oily residue from the thermal pads and probably replace the thermal pads too. The oily residue from the thermal pads + dust becomes conductive overtime.

This one is probably more related to the Sonoma issues running on non AVX2.0 CPUs.
