Hello guys!

My friend and me made some Plexiglas Door for our Mac Pros 4.1(5.1)

Instead doing it the regular way:

https://www.instructables.com/id/Mac-Pro-Mod-Transparent-Side-Panel/

We found much more simple tecnology:

  • Plexiglas can be purchased with the correct size of the aluminum door
  • 2 upper holes of the Mac Pro are made a bit wider
  • 2 rivet nuts (German: Blindniete mit Gewinde) need to be installed in the holes of Mac Pro
  • 2 screws to tighten the door
Very simple technology, easy montage, looking great.

I want just share my experience.

The G5 has the clear air deflector that covers most of the area inside the side access door.
So, you could run the G5 with the access door off - but you had to leave the air deflector in place.
Kinda looks like that plexiglas door - neat idea for some users.
