Hi,

Recently acquired and repaired a Mac Classic SE with all new caps and Blue Scsi and want to max out RAM on it. I've got plenty of 4Mb Simms I made which is great for upgrading classic II's but can the SE be upgraded past 4Mb with a upgraded ROM maybe?

In theory, yes. The Macintosh Portable and PowerBook 100 both used the same 68000 CPU, and supported up to 9 MB of RAM. And the 68000 CPU itself could theoretically support 16 MB of RAM.

But getting the ROM is the trick. I don't know how you'd modify the ROM. There was a third party replacement ROM for the SE/30, but none that I know of for the SE.
